HIGH-KEY/LOW-KEY PHOTOGRAPHY High-key and low-key treatments add impact to an image by creating a strong contrast between lights and darks. Typically, high-key photos have large amounts of pure white with no shadows, while low-key is the opposite with lots of dark space. Great photos of this type are achieved intentionally through camera settings during image capture, and can be further emphasized in post-processing. This is one of the times where breaking the rules and blowing out highlights or clipping shadows is expected. On Monday, May 20, Professional photographer Greg Holden will share with Redlands Camera Club examples of black-and-white and color images and explain his technique. This free Zoom-only presentation begins at 7pm Monday, May 20. The public is welcome to join.
